Getting a lot of questions about Kangal Dog breeders in US so why not to publish some of them? Of course we cannot put all of them here, but just some who already attracted our attention.

Origins

The Kangal Dog is an ancient LSG (LiveStock Guardian) type of dog. The breed got it's name for the Kangal Province in central Turkey.   It is believed that the Kangal Dog accompanied Turks as working dogs on their long journey from Central Asia to Anatolia in the 11th century.  The Kangal Dog has been featured on Turkish postage stamps and coins. This amazing breed was first reported in North American canine literature by David and Judith Nelson, Americans who studied the dogs while resident in Turkey and who imported the first dog in United States.

Turkish Kangal Dog

Something about Kangal Dog - It is a large, strong, heavy-boned dog. It's size and all proportions have been devepoled naturally over the years as a result of its use in country of origin - Turkey. Kangal Dog is a guardian who guards animals against all predators. Massive head, slightly longer than tall with curled tail. Kangal has a dark mask and ears, but his body color range from light brown to gray.
